Hey Everybody,

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend. I’m sure you’re all wondering how Funding Drive turned out, and I’m happy to inform you we collectivity raised approximately $23,000 for CKDU which is a huge deal! I’m really proud of everyone, and it was really great to see a ton of people step up, put in some work, and show their love. We had some really great events, some really great shows and a whole lot of great programmers. So pat yourselves on the back everyone.

Even having raised an astounding $23,000 that still puts us a bit short of our final goal of $27,000. We’re like a car teetering over the edge of a cliff, waiting for a comically timed bird to land on the hood and tip us over. I’m asking you all to be that bird.

Funding Drive will be continuing in a reduced capacity for the next two weeks, and all we’re asking is you do a little bit more. For those of you who met your show goal, maybe there’s someone who donated to you last year who you didn’t get around to asking this year. And for those of you who didn’t quite hit your goal, now is the time to make a renewed effort at asking everyone you know to help keep you on the air. We will still be accepting pledge books, and you can tell people to call the station line 494-6479 between 12 and 5 Monday to Friday if they would like to call in a pledge. You can also direct people to the website http://fundingdrive.ckdu.ca/ where they can donate very easily through Paypal.

Once again I want to stress how proud I am of each and every one of you for all your hard work fund-raising, volunteering, putting on events and producing great radio. Let’s keep the push going just a bit longer and topple over that edge.
